cents 1966

Specifications: Silver. Composition 80% silver, 20% copper. Reeded edge.

Decimal mint rolls
Royal Australian Mint decimal
rolls were first released in 1966 and have become a highly sought after
investment item. Unopened rolls guarantee all coins
are choice or gem uncirculated (although some minor mint handling marks
may be evident on some coins).
Not all coins minted since
1966 were issued by the mint in rolls. Some were issued in bags. Some
were not issued for general circulation at all. In some years, most notably
1966, coins were issued from different mints with observable 'mint marks'
making them separate collectable items. Some were issued in rolls with
packaging of the Reserve Bank or private banks.
These rolls are official Royal
Australian Mint rolls unless indicated otherwise.
